I’m a first time boarder – what should I expect at the time of check-in?
Ensure by phone the exact time you will be arriving. A staff member will meet you. Please leave your babies in the car. The hotel suite will be ready and waiting. Off-load their goodies. Hand your baby to our care-giver, wait for your lead.
What is your fee policy?
Payment is made prior to boarding. We expect half as a non-refundable deposit and the balance payable before arrival.
Do you cater for cats?
We don't, but we are happy to refer/recommend you to the Cottage Cattery which is right next door to us. They really do care for kitty cats and also cater for special needs cats. Contact Charmaine on 0763330825.
Do we cater for other animals? We can cater for other animals by special arrangement. We have hosted a pot belly pig and a rooster at our Pet Hotel. (The rooster met his chicken soul mate at our Pet Hotel and his mom adopted her, so he took his soul mate home).
Should I bring the food I use at home?
Only in the case of special vet prescribed diets. Pets that have special diets must have their food dished out in containers for the amount of days boarding at our hotel. Woodrock Pet Hotel supplies two meals a day.
Must I bring my pet’s toys, bedding and bowls?
Please do not bring baskets, bowls and toys unless previously arranged. We clean out kennels daily, hence these goodies tend to get lost in the system once cleaned. An old (non returnable) T-shirt of mom’s and dad’s is a good idea as there is no better scent for your babies than that of mom or dad.
What is included in the basic boarding fee?
Will you exercise my pet during the stay?
Yes. It is essential that our guests receive daily walks and exercise.
Do you exercise my pet when it rains?
In the event of rain, our guests have access to their garden runs. Doors remain open all day from 6:30 am till 6:30 pm.
Will my pet be with other guests?
During daily group activities (if social), yes. Families of pets share alone. We do not generally mix guests from different families, unless we believe that our single guest will benefit from the interaction of a kennel buddy. Our guests may take part in group exercise, if social, but always under strict observation of care-givers.
What are Woodrock Pet Hotel pre-requisites, requirements and policy?
To ensure the continued health of our guests and the virus free environment of our facilities, we are non- negotiable on the following requirements when making a booking and require proof that all have been complied with. This is a pre-requisite to secure your successful reservation for boarding.
How do I send my pet’s vaccination and health certificate information to you?
Email your Inoculations booklet / card as proof of vaccinations and veterinary invoice as proof of de-worming, de-fleaing and kennel cough prevention, to Woodrock Pet Hotel at [email protected]. (Please include your name and surname on the emails.)
What do you do if my pet gets ill?
In the event that your pet falls ill or in our opinion appears unwell, we will not hesitate to take him/her to either a vet specified on your application or to a vet of our choice. The veterinary cost is for your account.
Do you keep daily records of my pet’s health and behaviour?
We maintain a note of any health problem and adverse behavioural observations and provide feed back at the end of the guest’s stay.
Will my pet be safe and secure while boarding at Woodrock Pet Hotel?
Safety, love and care are paramount at the Woodrock Pet Hotel.
Are Woodrock Pet Hotel Staff experienced animal- carers? Can they administer medication?
Our staff of 6 permanent, on-site care-givers are well trained to take care of your fur-child/children and the administering of medication is supervised by the manager.
What is the Woodrock Pet Hotel Cancellation Policy?
Cancellations must be made in good time (preferable 2 weeks notice). There is a non-refundable policy at Woodrock Pet Hotel.

- Copy of each pet’s vet/vaccination card showing vaccinations are up to date.
- Confirmation that each pet has been dewormed in the week prior to arrival date.
- Confirmation that each pet has had flea prevention applied in the week prior to arrival date.
- Confirmation of kennel cough prevention treatment in the two weeks prior arrival date.
- Completed and signed Pet Hotel Booking Form/Indemnity
- Completed Pet Information Form (one per pet staying at our Pet Hotel)
- Payment in full prior to arrival date.
